How can I find the original version of that poem, "One dark day in the middle of the night..."?

I hear a LOT of different versions. Also, that other one "The other day on the stair I saw a man who wasn't there", is that by the same person? I heard about the two poems in the movie A Haunting in Connecticut which implied there's a book with a lot of poems like those in there...
